trip with us.

Hello,
May I request appropriate Etho Metho staff to forward this email message to Karma Kuenga Zangpo. I was unable to send this directly to his personal email address: karma_kz@yahoo.co.in.
Given this opportunity, I would like to mention that my wife and I throughly enjoyed our recent visit to Bhutan. The Etho Metho sightseeing/touring schedule was flawless in its planning and execution. Our guide Karma, and driver Benjho (pardon the misspelling), were a marvelous and professional team. They very capably attended to our every need.
We engaged your company through Abercrombie & Kent Travel, and have sent along our recommendations in support of Etho Metho to their management. A&K has since responded very favorably to our communication, and should be in touch with your firm as well.
Thank you for helping to fulfill our dream vacation.
Best regards.

Dear friends,
I was in the recent touring group of Australians, and want to say how much I enjoyed the whole experience. The warm welcome we received from all the people we met, the excellent arrangements that were made for our enjoyment and comfort, the beauty of the natural landscape, all combined to give this trip a permanent place in my heart. We enjoyed having lunch with the director of your company-I regret I have forgotten your name, but will remember your graciousness.
I thought, and am sure all on the tour agreed, that Sangey, as driver, and Garab, as guide, were specially chosen just for our delight. We very quickly came to think of them as friends, as part of the group. Garab was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing the history and culture, and as was frequently remarked, Sangey held our lives in his hands on the mountain roads and was worthy of the trust.
I thought the itinerary was particularly well planned, with the museums early in the time so that we could absorb some cultural background, the walks spaced through the time so we got used to the altitude, and the physical exercise for those of us who needed some training. The Tiger's Nest walk/climb was a very appropriate last day and a very memorable one. We enjoyed visiting the training school for young artisans and seeing homes and factories where we met people at work. Bonuses for us were the brilliant autumn weather, watching some of the harvest of the golden rice fields, and the exquisite handworked arts and crafts.
Thank you for sharing your country with us.

Notes on Guides:
Gyem was always punctual and very informative. He was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Transport:
Gyem was also our driver. He was very competent (how did he stay awake all those hours behind the wheel? Driving for this long in a day would be illegal in England!). Vehicle great, very comfortable!
Itinerary:
It was a bit of a long drive from Thimphu all the way to Bumthang. But I am not sure how this could be changed, even the drive back was long. It doesn’t help if it is raining!! Not enough time spent in Paro and the vicinity.
Hotels:
Hotels generally good. The hotel in Bumthang was ok (we had to stay in the nearby farmhouse, which was a bit basic), but the food was not very good. It was boring. YT Hotel was excellent. The hotel on the last night in Thimphu was not very good. Riverview was better.
The Kingdom and Tips:
Bhutan is a wonderful country and very different from its neighbours. The balance between sustainable tourism and development seems to be appropriate. However, I worry about the impact that increasing tourist numbers will have on the local population and infrastructure.
I apologise for the behaviour of some of the European visitors. Many of the western people we came across were extremely rude and demanding. They failed to understand the character of the Bhutanese people. You are very relaxed and easy going, westerners tend to be very demanding.
It is a beautiful country and I would love to come back to do some mountain biking.
Many thanks for the flight upgrade to Khatmandu (much appreciated)!

Dear Etho Metho:
We visited Bhutan in October and had Sangay Khandu for our guide. He was wonderful and we would highly recommend him to others. We have some photos that we would like to send him, so would appreciate your sending us his mailing address in Paro. Many thanks.

Dear Mrs. Dago Beda, dear Mr. Nim Gyaltshen,
We are now back from our journey to Bhutan and Sikkim. We want to thank you
for the good orginasitation of our journey. The guide Mr. Chencho was very
nice and spoke an excellent English. He gave us a lot of information about
your beautiful country. With our driver we felt safe the whole journey. We
thank you also for the kindness for including our drinks in the price of the
journey.
Many kind regards fom our group,

We are writing to say how much we enjoyed our recent trip to Bhutan.
Our guide, Chencho Dokjee, and our driver, Kinley Doji, were both excellent.
We would like to return to Bhutan in the future in the Spring to see the
flowers. Do you provide specialist guides for the flora? We understand a
botanical garden is being constructed. Have you any idea when it will be
finished?
Again many thanks for an excellent holiday.
Best wishes for 2006 (Submitted by:Janet and David Carr)
